Ida Scott Taylor

"Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering." -Ida Scott Taylor

I love these words.  Ida Scott Taylor spoke so eloquently when she described the importance of appreciating each day for what it is worth.  In my own life, I know I struggle with consistently living in the present.  Our past is all we know, and often it is hard to divert our attention to what is rather than what was.  I am definitely guilty of dwelling on the past, or worrying about the future.  But what good is this doing me?

It is true that we learn and we grow from our experiences, and our past is what made us who we are; but when we are dwelling on the past or worrying about the future we are wasting the now!  The past can be harsh and the future can be scary, but in my opinion, the best way to stop worrying about the future is to start in on the future right now!

Today is the first day of the rest of your life, no matter what has happened in the past.  If you are scared of what may come in the future... be brave today, then be brave tomorrow.  The future will be beautiful if you choose to appreciate each day!

Day 6: Make a goal for each day, any positive goal will do!  Work to accomplish that goal and take pride in knowing that you made the most of each day!
